“Be the Change” by Rob Greenfield

Soriko and Raketa Publishing present Rob Greenfield’s book to Bulgarian readers.

We at Soriko took up as a personal cause the idea of helping to publish Rob Greenfield’s book “Be the Change” in Bulgaria.

The motivation for this decision was our meetings with the many young people who often turn to us for support and advice on various environmental initiatives.

This is our second joint project with Raketa Publishing aimed at the environmental education of children and young people. We want more and more people to be informed about what is happening and about what lies ahead if we do not change the way we live!

Here is a small part of the information you will find in the book:

  • Humanity currently uses more natural resources every year than the Earth is able to produce.
  • 100 years ago most of our household waste was ash (from coal burnt for heating and cooking) and food waste, with very little or even no plastic.
  • When we waste food, we also waste the land, soil, water, fossil fuels and labour that went into growing it.
  • We use water in hundreds of other ways. In fact, the water used at home amounts to just 5 per cent of our total water consumption.
